The alarm facility in the ipod is not good for all.Because if we disconnects the earphones then how can we hears the sound of alarm clock?

Yes, you're right.
For me, i put my speaker on the table beside my bed.
I will plug my iPod with the speaker before i go to sleep.

I think this's not the big problem..because there're many external speakers sold outside as an additional accessories.
