I had seen all the quotes about how good the sound was and how loud it gets and I have to say the iKick lived up to the hype.
The unit was very easy to unpack and set up. Just unbox it add the correct iPod dock adapter plug it in and go. You are all set to disturb your neighbors.
Volume and Sound Control
The controls are simple a single dial on the front allows you to adjust the volume, bass, and treble. Nothing fancy just the controls you need.
Inputs and Outputs
The inputs and outputs are limited. A single auxiliary input for a cd player or other mp3 play and a single left/right stereo output. It might be nice to see an S-video output but we get the feeling the iKick500 was designed to play music and play music well. Which it does.
Remote Control
Again a simple and well designed remote control. You have access to volume, mute, song forward and song replay. The remote also has full access to the iPod which is a big plus. The remote has a good size to and fits well in your hand.
Cons
There are not really many cons except the power options. Currently the only option is to use wall power. It would be nice to a rechargeable battery added to make a portable version.
Summary
All in all the iKick has the premium sound to fill up any room or outdoor area. This unit will give the Bose a run for its money and looks much cooler than the SoundDock.
