    Overview

    Overview The Sonic Impact iP-23 Portable iPod Alarm clock, Roxy Edition, is a great portable system and the sound quality is excellent even at higher volumes

    Review

    Looking for Roxy style in a unique, compact and ultra portable iPod dock speaker system? This one is a great buy. It is made with a nice hard shell that is covered in the Roxy design with a zipper that opens it up to reveal the dock and speakers, unfolding like a book.

    Sound:
    The iP-23 Roxy Edition has pretty good sound for it’s size. Actually it is a little surprising how loud and clear it is. Since it has two speakers, it’s fairly more balanced than some other ultra portable speaker systems.

    Design:
    The Roxy Edition iP23 is all about it’s unique look, but it’s also built very sturdily. The speaker and iPod dock are housed within a strong, durable frame that zips closed when not in use.

    Functionality:
    The iP23 is surprisingly functional. It has a digital clock, alarm functions, a built in iPod dock and an auxiliary input/output.

    Summary:
    Great sounding ultra portable speaker system with surprising amount of features. It may be hard to to find an ultra-portable system with built in iPod dock besides this one.

    Pros and Cons

    Pros Great sound. Portability. Alarm. Charging while plugged in.
    Cons No remote.

    I got my Roxy as a gift and wasn’t too sure about it – I have a phenomenal speaker system with iPod cable already and didn’t think I’d ever use this. I noticed that it had an alarm and decided to try it out in my bedroom. After a few nights of going to bed and waking up to my favorite tunes, I finally noticed just how great the sound was. I put some batteries in it, took it off the cable and brought it with me to a ton of places. It is great on a night out the beach or simply hanging outside with my friends. I got to the point where I used it rather than my surround sound because I could bring it with me to different rooms. It is very portable and the sound on it kicks! I only wish it had a remote so I can skip songs from anywhere. But the ease of moving this small unit around and the powerful music that comes out of it more then makes up for that.

    I highly recommend this for anyone who likes music!

    Pros and Cons

    Pros Sound Quality is best, stylish, loud, portable
    Cons a little too girly for me

    This speaker is amazing! I purchased it last xmas at The Apple Store for my girlfriend and she loved it so much that im shopping around the internet now (its only october!) for another one. This thing is so simple you just put your ipod on and play the music and it works with my iphone too. we use it a lot when we go hiking and at the beach etc..etc.. for longer trips its good because it uses AA batteries (plays music for like 30 hours before you need to change) so when you are out and not near a charger you just put in new batteries. At the house i just leave it plugged into the wall in the kitchen and she cooks when she listens to music.

    I rate this speaker top notch because of how unique and good sounding it is while it is portable and has good style too.
